Earth to Winter

There is snow upon the ground,
The leaves no longer crisp and true
Soundless feet now singing
Silence broke for you.

There is break upon the wind
Breathe in- breathe out- it shows-
The winter touches, lovingly,
My world- and she grows cold.

My body turns, still shifting
Bare bones break through the earth
Oh my love, my winter-
Come teach me what I'm worth.

Cover me with blankets
Embracing me with snow
Tracing icy patterns
Over skin you beg to know.
